After our Thursday snow that melted on the pavement, drivers need to be on alert for some scattered slick spots, due to the potential for ice to develop as temps fall below freezing. Bridges and overpasses will be the most likely locations for the icy patches, since those roads do not touch the warmer ground. Watch out for slick roads Our early morning temps will be as low as the upper 20s. Temps will climb a few degrees as we approach dawn. Conditions become warm enough higher above us in the atmosphere for some scattered rain showers to start to fall in the early morning. If the showers begin when temps are below freezing, even with the higher pavement temps, we could have a brief period of scattered freezing rain. As a result, we'll be on alert for icy patches being possible on all roads, not just the bridges and overpasses. Some morning rain is possible and it may lead to a few icy patches on the roads early, before temps start to rise well above freezing. The afternoon will be warmer than Thursday's afternoon conditions. Highs reach the mid-40s. Some scattered lake effect rain showers are possible as strong winds blow in from the NW, occasionally gusting up to 30 mph. The day's rain chances exit by Friday night and temps will be in the low-to-mid-40s during our Friday night football games. It will be dry for the weekend with highs in the mid-40s Saturday and the low 50s Sunday. The warmest day in the forecast is Monday, but the above average warmth doesn't last long with another front moving through the area. Rain is possible Monday, with highs in the low 50s, before high temperatures fall on Tuesday. Highs on Tuesday will be in the upper 30s, close to 40°. Highs will continue to be near 40° Wednesday with some rain showers possible. On Thanksgiving, there's a continuing chance for a few raindrops and snowflakes to fall. Thanksgiving's high temp will be in the upper 30s. Black Friday's high temps will be a few degrees lower, down in the mid-30s. Plan on layering up for Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping. High temps remain in the 30s for the Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving, too. Morning: Mostly cloudy. Some scattered rain showers by daybreak may result in some brief freezing rain/ice.
