Rochester Prep releases statement on student's health scare

Rochester, N.Y. — Rochester prep charter school released a statement Thursday addressing a scary incident in which a 14-year-old passed out in school Wednesday.
Rochester police say that girl collapsed and became unresponsive during a sporting event inside the school at 14 Mark Street in Rochester.
They say another student alerted staff who then performed CPR on the student before medics arrived.
At last check, the student was in the hospital in serious, but stable condition.
Thursday, Rochester Prep declined any interviews, but released a statement that said, "Our hearts and thoughts are with our student and her family during this incredibly difficult time. We are focused on providing every possible support to them and the entire Rochester Prep community as we navigate this challenging moment. We appreciate the rapid response of everyone involved to the medical emergency."
