OAKHURST, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The mugshot of the 41-year-old who allegedly shot a K-9 following a rampage in a stolen vehicle Wednesday afternoon was released by the Madera County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.
Deputies say the suspect 41-year-old Allen Scott Williams from Mariposa was arrested following a hit-and-run in Oakhurst where a stolen Toyota 4Runner was seen ramming several vehicles.

After fleeing the scene, deputies say Williams drove up Highway 41 and then down Road 425B. Investigators say the owner of the Toyota 4Runner saw his missing vehicle, followed it, and alerted deputies. Williams then struck the owner of the Toyota 4Runner, who was following him in another vehicle, before traveling down a long driveway. He then got out and fled.
Deputies on the scene say they chased Williams, who produced a shotgun and fired at Madera County Sheriff K-9 Obie. Obie was transported to an emergency veterinarian clinic in Fresno.
An exchange of gunfire ensued and Williams was struck. Deputies say he was transported by helicopter to a Fresno hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say Williams was later arrested on suspicion of violation of probation and assault with a deadly weapon.
As of Thursday morning, officials say K-9 Obie is expected to make a full recovery following an extensive rehabilitation period.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office says the Madera Police Department will conduct an outside independent criminal investigation, as is procedure with officer-involved shootings.
