TOPEKA (KSNT) - A downtown Topeka business is holding a "bar-age sale" this week after it was forced to close its doors earlier this month due to financial problems. 27 News caught up with Brew Bank which announced in October it would be shutting down operations in the downtown area. Ryan Cavanaugh, co-founder and president of Brew Bank, attributed the closure to financial issues brought on by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Brew Bank is now selling everything from bar glasses and drink mixes to decorations. Cavanaugh told 27 News it still hasn't sunk in that it's over for the business. He said that it's tough to sell off everything. "You know, it's over," Cavanaugh said. "That's hard to say, but it's where we're at. This was not supposed to happen. So, after five years, you know, we're doing stuff that's real tough." "If you have a home bar, we've got it for you," said co-owner James Lucatero. "All of our glassware is for sale. If you need any pint glasses, coupe glasses, martini glasses, anything to make cocktails or drinks with, it's all for sale." New breakfast restaurant opens soon in west Topeka Lucatero and Cavanaugh said they have bigger items like a walk-in cooler for sale also. Brew Bank's doors will be open for the sale from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 21-22 and from noon to 5 p.m. on Nov. 23. You can find Brew Bank at 822 South Kansas Avenue. For more local news, click here.
