SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Leilani Simon, found guilty last month on all counts in the 2022 murder of her toddler son Quinton, received a life sentence on Thursday. Judge Tammy Stokes sentenced Simon to life in prison with the possibility of parole, plus 10 years. "The one thing that I will say before pronouncing sentence is clearly little Quinton Simon's life and death impacted many, many individuals but also the community at large," Stokes said. Man convicted of killing Laken Riley sentenced to life in prison without parole Leilani Simon was convicted of malice murder, two counts of felony murder, concealing the death of another, false report of a crime and 14 counts of making a false statement. She reported 20-month-old Quinton missing on Oct. 5, 2022. Prosecutors said Leilani Simon killed him, then threw his body in a dumpster. His remains were found weeks later in a Chatham County landfill. "May there be peace, somehow," Stokes said at the hearing's conclusion.
