West Warwick schools superintendent says no evidence of misconduct found in investigation of cheer coach

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — West Warwick School Department Superintendent Karen Tarasevich said a Title IX investigation into alleged misconduct by Head Cheerleading Coach Taylor Gargano found “no evidence supporting the allegations of wrongdoing.”
Gargano was originally put on administrative leave in September after an anonymous complaint.
Tarasevich said that the investigation, which was initiated in September, followed the district’s policies and procedures, and that Gargano was reinstated to her position.

West Warwick Public Schools has concluded the Title IX investigation regarding anonymous allegations against the West Warwick High School Head Cheerleading Coach. The investigation, initiated in September 2024, was conducted in accordance with the district’s Title IX policies and procedures.
Based on the findings and the accounts provided by participants, the investigator did not receive any evidence supporting the allegations of wrongdoing. As a result, the complaint has been dismissed due to the lack of sufficient evidence and the coach has been reinstated to her coaching position.
We appreciate the community’s patience and trust as we conducted this thorough and important process. Our priority continues to be the well-being and integrity of our school community.
