PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — As Rhode Island FC continues its historic run in the USL Championship playoffs, the community has been coming together to cheer them on. Rhode Island FC will play in the finals this Saturday against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and could become just the second club to win it all in their inaugural season. They're already the first expansion team in eight years to reach the finals, and they're the first ever to do it out of the Eastern Conference. East Providence City Hall has been lit up in blue and yellow to show support for the team. Saturday's match kicks off at 12 p.m. and will be broadcast on WPRI 12. The team's official watch party will be held at Moonshine Alley on Pine Street in Providence. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Pawtucket spokesperson Grace Voll told 12 News that watch parties are also planned at The Guild and Rhode Island Spirits.
