JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Amazon's fulfillment center on Hartford Avenue in Johnston is officially open. "We’re very excited that PVD2 is now delivering for customers in Rhode Island and beyond – and just in time for the holiday season, too," a spokesperson told 12 News on Thursday. "And we’re grateful for the support of policymakers in Johnston and at the state that helped us reach today." NEXT: A look inside the new Amazon facility in Johnston The spokesperson said operations at the 3.8 million square-foot facility will progressively "ramp up" into 2025. A job fair was held at the fulfillment center earlier this month. Another facility in the New England region recently opened in Charlton, Massachusetts. That facility is 2.8 million square-feet.
