Family of Jordan Gulley remembering him as a servant to the community and lover of life

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Gulley family is now remembering their beloved Jordan Gulley, a 14-year-old Freshman of Millwood Public Schools, who was tragically killed in a shooting Saturday night in a northeast Oklahoma City neighborhood.
"He was just a caring, loving, charismatic individual," said Kiara Gulley, Jordan's mother. "He was just all around, an amazing, amazing, kid. And I was definitely grateful to have been his mom."

Jordan's grandmother, Sonya Gulley, who he called his "Nana," recalled seeing lots of police tape and paramedics when she arrived to the scene.
"I just saw Jordan laying on the ground and I was going to get to him no matter what," said Gulley.
Sonya tells News 4, that devastating night will never be forgotten.
Gulley says, "The impact is just is indescribable, my life would never be the same, never."

Although Jordan's life was cut short, other loved ones say his legacy will live on.
"Jordan was a great kid he loved to play basketball, play football. He loved to help in his community," said Keeno Gulley, Jordan's uncle.
Jordan's Papa remembers him as, "Such a good person."

Just days after the shooting, the community has started a memorial near the area where the incident happened. They left messages and tributes to Jordan.
"I had no idea he had an impact on so many people. Young, old, middle, just everybody. And it makes me so proud of him. It makes me so proud," said his Nana, Sonya.
The Gulley family said they're heartbroken, but leaning on each other is what they do best.
Sonya says, "We have a big family and no matter what, we stick together. Thank God for that."
Millwood Public Schools released a statement to the public saying:
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jordan Gulley, a freshman at Millwood High School. Jordan was a beloved member of our student body who possessed a quiet, calm, and peaceful presence. Having been part of our school community since the age of 10, Jordan leaves an indelible mark on his friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
We extend our deepest condolences to his mother, family, and all those affected by this tragedy, and we pray for comfort and strength during this difficult time. While we may not have all the answers, we remain firm in our belief in God’s will and peace, which we share with the family. We continue to pray for and support his family and friends, as well as the staff at Millwood, who have been with Jordan throughout his journey in our district.
As we navigate this senseless and avoidable tragedy, we ask that you keep the entire Millwood family in your prayers. Together, we will lean on one another and services are available to any student or staff member in need. May we find solace in each other as we face this heartbreaking loss together.
