Green Bay Packers Foundation awards $1.5 million in grants at annual luncheon

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV)—The Green Bay Packers Foundation held its annual luncheon on Thursday afternoon, awarding $1.5 million in grants to almost 400 civic and charitable organizations throughout Wisconsin.
The luncheon began at noon, and each organization was recognized for its efforts and services. The full program with speakers began at 12:45, with Packers Foundation Chairperson Wilson Jones speaking, along with representatives from a few grant recipients.

"We like to say that they're doing the good work," Jones said. "The common theme between these groups is that everybody matters."
Jones said he believes that mantra also defines the Packers Foundation, and this event is a great way to honor the groups that deserved it.
"Our organization has always had community support," Jones said. "We wouldn't be where we are without that."

This year's cycle was aimed towards organizations that work to fund areas of arts and culture along with education and sports. 54 of the organizations that received grant money from the Packers Foundation are in Brown County.
