FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Two children and their pets made it safely out of a house that caught fire Thursday afternoon in a northeast side neighborhood. Around 3 p.m., crews with the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a home in the 6200 block of Millhollow Lane near Georgetown Square. Traffic on Maplecrest Road was temporarily slowed as fire trucks and ambulances made their way to the scene. Firefighters determined the home was heavily damaged by the smoke, flames and water. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
