(CNN)– More than half of adults who have yet to retire say they will need to rely on social security benefits for necessary expenses.
According to a new survey from Bankrate, around 53% of Americans said they will need to use social security in retirement.
Many Americans worry about how their benefits might change since the program is expected to have a revenue shortfall in less than a decade.
The survey said among those 60 and older and closest to retiring, 69% said they will rely on social security benefits.
