Firefighter hurt while battling intentionally set house fire in East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC – A firefighter was hurt Thursday morning while battling a house fire in East Charlotte.
Around 6 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire in the 3900 block of North Sharon Amity Road.
Charlotte Fire said it took firefighters 37 minutes to battle the blaze.
One firefighter sustained minor ankle injuries and was transported to the hospital out of caution, the fire department said. The firefighter was released Thursday afternoon and is expected to make a full recovery.
No other injuries were reported during the incident.
Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set.
