Bakersfield ComicCon features long list of special guests

The 15th annual Bakersfield Comic-Con - scheduled for Nov. 23 and 24 – will feature a large group of special guests including former “Baywatch” star Parker Stevenson and “Diagnosis Murder” star Charlie Schlatter.
Doors will be open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Events will take place in Buildings 2 and 3 at the Kern County Fairgrounds, 1142 South P St. Admission is $12 for a single day or $20 for both but children ages 12 and under enter free. There is also a $5 fee to park at the facility.
A Bakersfield Fantasy Faire is part of the convention and requires no additional admission. This is the second year that convention goers are urged to come in costume and see Medieval fighting and food.
Stevenson is a Philadelphia native who portrayed Craig Pomeroy on “Baywatch.” He is also known for portraying Frank Hardy – one of a pair of sibling sleuths – on the ‘70s series “The Hardy Boys.”
His other television credits include “Falcon Crest,” “Melrose Place,” “Greenhouse Academy,” “Longmire” and “Bull.” Film credits for Stevenson include “Lifeguard,” “Stroker Ace,” “American Confederate” and “A Separate Peace.”
Schlatter has worked with two of the biggest comedy legends in TV and film. He starred alongside George Burns in the 1988 comedy film “18 Again!” and was on the TV medical crime drama “Diagnosis Murder” from 1995-2001 that featured Dick Van Dyke in the starring role.
The long list of TV, film and video game work for the New Jersey native includes “Sunset Heat,” “Police Academy: Mission to Moscow,” “Ferris Bueller,” “For All Mankind,” “EverQuest II” and “Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.”
A special reunion of cast members from the 1986 film “Aliens. Scheduled to attend are: Michael Biehn, Corporal Hicks; Mark Rolston, Private Drake, Jenette Goldstein, Private Jasquez; and Ricco Ross, Private Frost.
Those attending will be selling autographs and other merchandise.
Other guests scheduled to attend include:
Tony Cox – Along with the two “Bad Santa” movies, the New York native has appeared in “Beetlejuice,” “Willow,” “Epic Movie,” “Me, Myself & Irene” and “Disaster Movie.”
Brett Wagner – The Los Angeles native has rolled up a long list of credits over the past 30 years including “Dracula: The Dark Prince,” “The Crazies” and “Sons of Anarchy.”
Kevin Thompson – Along with playing an Ewok in “Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi,” his credits include “Blade Runner” and “Critters.”
Honky Tonk Man – Hall of Fame professional wrestler Roy Wayne Farris is best known for his years in the World Wrestling Federation.
Joe Rubenstein – The artist/painter/creator has worked on titles from “X-Men” to “The Infinity Gauntlet.”
Stephen Silver – The British artist, cartoonist and character designer was the lead character designer for the animated series “Danny Phantom” and “Kim Possible.”
Tony Fleecs – His work includes “Feral” and “My Little Pony.”
Lee Kohse – The portrait artist is best known for his work on “Star Wars” projects for Lucasfilm.
