WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Firefighters in Washington, D.C., were called to the Cannon House Office Building on Thursday after a space heater caught fire. In a post on X, DC Fire and EMS said the call came in around 9:40 a.m. The fire department said companies found the small space heater in the hall. The fire was extinguished before crews arrived. Currently, the Cannon Renewal Project is underway and involves a renovation of the building's accessibility and structural issues. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
