CYO Basketball Scores: Noah Grieb leads St. Raphael’s Blue past St. Gregory’s White in OT

It was a rousing start for the Mercer County CYO basketball leagues as things got underway with some cliffhangers and some solid performances.
St. Raphael’s Blue needed overtime to get past St. Gregory’s White, 16-14, and Noah Grieb led the winners with eight points in the Boys Freshman Division.
In other Boys Freshman games the first two weeks, St. Gregory’s Blue got off the right foot in its first two games of the season as it defeated St. Ann’s White, 40-4, as Russel Hennessy and Ben Galant each had six points.
St. Paul’s was the next to fall to the St. Gregory’s Blue team, 30-5, as Austin Talar led the way with 14 points.
St. Gregory’s Gray showed there’s plenty of talent out there in Hamilton Square with a win over St. Paul’s, 26-10. David Gremanis led St. Gregory’s Gray with 16 points.
The guys in Gray drubbed St. Ann’s, 28-2, as Angelo Scinicrepi tallied eight points.
St. Paul’s came back and got the best of St. Ann’s, 18-7, as James Armstrong had six markers.
Noah Sykes led Princeton Academy with 11 points in an easy win over St. Ann’s.
Boys JV Division
Matt Vannozzi netted 13 points as St. Paul’s stopped St. Ann’s, 30-14.
Boys Varsity Division
It was a high-scoring affair as Our Lady of Sorrows needed 14 points from Leyton Jakubowski to top St. Paul’s Gold, 41-29.
Joseph Davon led the way with 15 points as St. Gregory’s White topped St. Ann’s, 48-10.
Girls Freshman
Finley Conklin caged nine points as St. Gregory’s White defeated St. Paul’s, 17-7.
Girls JV Division
Riley Archbald opened the season in style scoring 20 points as St. Paul’s Gold downed St. Gregory’s White, 34-11.
St. Paul’s Gold downed St. Gregory’s White, 42-11, as Archbald stayed on fire with a game-high 18 points.
St. Raphael’s took a 37-14 decision over St. Paul’s White as Mia Larry scored 12 points.
Girls Varsity Division
Liv Scharibone set the pace as Our Lady of Sorrows defeated St. Gregory’s White, 31-22.
St. Gregory’s Blue got the best of Stuart, 34-28, as Mary Kate Giblin netted 12 points.
Things didn’t get any better for Stuart as St. Raphael’s took a 30-11 win over the Tartans as Addy Dziubak poured in 13 points for the Saints.
It was the White of St. Gregory’s taking on the St. Gregory’s Blue and the White team got 11 points from Sophia Lo.
