North Syracuse, N.Y. — There is a particular picture in your head when you read the word “lasagna.” A large square of layered pasta and cheese — and possibly meat or vegetables — topped with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. It’s Italian-American comfort food and most have a favorite recipe or restaurant version — for the record, mine is Chef’s in Buffalo — they crave for that soul-warming feeling.
