WAREHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Firefighters responded to a large brush fire in Wareham yesterday.
It happened at about 3:10 p.m. to the rear of a residence on Holly Tree Lane.
When crews arrived, the fire was reported to be active and expanding, in which two more brush breakers to assist.
The fire was knocked down in about 25 minutes, however crews worked for over two hours to overhaul the area, wetting down hot spots and pulling apart smoldering vegetation.
Officials said there were no injuries.
Firefighters said that over the last several days, their department has responded to multiple brush and woods fires in town due to drought conditions.
