(WGNO) — The Hammond Police Department has asked for the public's help in locating a man wanted by multiple agencies on felony charges. Officers are searching for 50-year-old Christopher Delcambre who, according to Hammond officers, allegedly led them on a chase in a stolen vehicle on Nov. 17. Tangipahoa Parish Jail escapee arrested after six months HPD officers report that during the chase, a jet ski and trailer fell from the vehicle nearly causing multiple accidents. They add that Delcambre also struck a vehicle during the pursuit. Police said the chase ended in Robert after Delcambre reportedly crashed the vehicle. He and an unidentified woman were then seen running away from the vehicle. (Courtesy/Hammond Police Department) HPD and multiple agencies engaged in a search for the subjects but the two were able to evade capture, according to police. On Nov. 18, officers were alerted of Delcambre's possible location. HPD officers, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office TPSO, Homeland Security and US Customs air support arrived to search a heavily wooded area but were unsuccessful. 3rd reported sexual assault this month by NOLA parks Delcambre's wallet and phone were found near the Tangipahoa River where officers believe he went into the water in an allegedly stolen boat which was recovered on the river. Delcambre is wanted by multiple agencies and was reportedly last seen in the Robert/Ponchatoula area and is possibly on foot. HPD officers are advising the public to keep their belongings secure.
