According to reports, it all started when Moore and a male neighbor were helping a woman move out of her apartment. She told police that Moore and the neighbor began to argue, but they were able to resolve their disagreement.
The woman said as she was walking down the hallway of her apartment, she heard a woman yelling from the front of her apartment. That is when she says she heard Moore say, "You better get your girl."
The woman says she turned around and began to walk toward the front room. Moore was seen standing in the front room along with the male neighbor and a woman known as "Neecy".
Police say Neecy and the male neighbor live together.
Neecy raised her right arm, which was wrapped in a yellow sheet, in Moore's direction before several shots were fired, reports state. Moore then fell to the floor.
MPD says Neecy reached inside the front doorway to grab a cricket cell phone and an Android cell phone from a table. Both phones belonged to the woman who owned the apartment.
Neecy told the woman, "Auntie you didn't see nothing" before getting into a blue Ford Mustang with the male neighbor and leaving the scene, police say.
