MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Kroger stores are a staple of the Mid-South and now the grocery chain is a part of the TennCare diaper program.
The program provides 100 diapers per month to TennCare and CoverKids members under the age of 2."It's huge. Diapers can cost $30, $40, $50 and that's not just a one-time purchase. You've got to do that multiple times during the month," said Lindsey Henson, pharmacy leader at Kroger. This program puts money back in your pocket."If your child is covered by TennCare or CoverKids you can present to Kroger Pharmacy and fill out a small form and you get 200 diapers for free every 60 days," Henson said.

WREG talked about the program when it started last summer when only two pharmacies in Memphis were a part of the program and the need was great with smaller pharmacies seeing so many families, there were long wait times.Kroger came on board last week."Our first shipment, we sold out this weekend so I was very excited about that," Henson said. "Prices are increasing on lots of different things for families and so this is one way that families can get ahead if they're not spending their money on diapers TennCare can provide it for them and they can use that money elsewhere."Henson says it's important that eligible families take advantage of the program."All Kroger pharmacies are a part of this program so whether it's in Memphis or Atoka, Millington, Dyersburg, you can go to that pharmacy and get your diapers," Henson says.
The diaper brand provided is Cuties Complete Care.
