INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — For the second time in as many days, Indianapolis firefighters spent part of the morning battling a restaurant fire. The Indianapolis Fire Department says four people called 911 around 6:15 a.m. Thursday to report a fire near a neon sign on the roof of the Four Seasons Diner, 1935 N. Shadeland Ave. Firefighters arrived at the diner and saw smoke coming from the roof. Crews entered the building and found heavy fire in the upper part of the building. IFD says it took just over an hour to get the fire under control. The diner opened at 5:30 a.m. and everyone inside the restaurant was able to get out safely. No firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but workers told firefighters they saw smoke near the neon sign after it was turned on at 6:16 a.m., according to IFD Battalion Chief Rita Reith. Thursday’s incident is the second restaurant fire in two days. The Indianapolis Fire Department spent several hours putting out a fire at a long-closed Golden Corral near Washington Square Mall on Wednesday.
