NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – One person is dead and another injured following an early morning shooting in a North Charleston neighborhood. Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded to an address on Sablewood Street around 4 a.m. after dispatchers received a call about the sound of gunshots. Dispatchers then received a call from the victim saying someone shot at her, and she shot the suspect, according to a police report. Police arrived and began providing care to the suspect and victim; however, police said the male suspect died at the scene. The woman was taken to an area hospital with injuries. Law enforcement said there was damage to a second-story window of a home which they believe happened in the shooting. A vehicle was also struck in the rear passenger door and tire. There have not been any arrests. The investigation is ongoing.
