ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — There is no shortage of cheer throughout the Rochester region as we head into the holidays.

Happening throughout the Holidays
Roc Holiday Village

The sixth annual Roc Holiday Village is gearing up for the holiday season at MLK Park!
Families will be able to enjoy free ice skating, meet with Santa at his workshop, check out the shopping areas throughout the village, enjoy food and live music, and more! There are also storytime events with Santa and Anna and Elsa from Disney's "Frozen." Those require tickets prior to the event.
The village will be open from December 6 through December 29!
Canandaigua's Business District
Over 100 businesses in Canandaigua are taking part in the Holiday Open House.
Customers will be able to discover gifts, designs from artisans, food at multiple restaurants, and dozens of merchants in the Canandaigua Business District.
The open house begins on Friday, December 6 at 9 a.m. until Sunday, December 8 at 5 p.m.
Furthermore, from December 13 through December 15, there will be an artist showcase at participating galleries and specialty shops in the downtown area.
Farmington Light Show
The Raggi Christmas Light Show will kick off the evening of Thanksgiving at 6:30 p.m.
The light show is located on Buckskin Drive. Drivers should turn their radio to 91.1 FM and watch the music synch up to the lights. You can also make a donation to the John F. Russo Jr. Memorial Foundation.
The show will run Sundays through Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Your last chance to catch this show will be New Year's Eve!
Genesee Country Village & Museum's Holiday Happenings
Guests have several chances to celebrate the holidays at the Genesee Country Village & Museum.
One of the highlighted events is the "Yuletide in the Country Tours & Dinners." These will be held on multiple days through December (December 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 20, and 21) as guests will be guided through the village. That is set on Christmas Eve 1870.
Other holiday-themed events include breakfasts with Santa (December 8 and 22), holiday open houses and workshops, afternoon teas (December 10, 11, 12, 18, and 19), and shopping.

Geva Theatre's 'A Christmas Carol'

The famous Charles Dickens story will be live on stage at Geva Theatre later this month and through December.
The production will be on the Wilson Stage from November 23 through December 29. You can purchase tickets by clicking here.
Holiday Fun at the George Eastman Museum
The Eastman Museum has some holly jolly events to ring in the holidays!
Gingerbread houses, wreaths, and tabletop trees will be on display throughout the historic mansion. There will also be many family-friendly activities such as paper bag gingerbread houses, exploring snowflake photographs, and more.

Holiday Laser Show
The Rochester Museum & Science Center brought back its holiday laser show in time for the holidays.
The show kicked off on November 16 and will be performing Christmas hits such as "Winter Wonderland," "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," and "All I Want for Christmas."
The show lasts for 40 minutes. The last chance to catch the show will be on January 5, 2025.
Holidays at the Market

The Rochester Public Market is celebrating the holiday season throughout December.
For over 25 years, Holiday at the Market has featured holiday-themed vendors. Customers will be able to buy Christmas trees and wreaths, decorations, food and drinks, and crafts from vendors.
The event will be held on December 1, December 8, and December 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be a special evening that will feature specials, entertainment, and carriage rides around the market. That will be on Thursday, December 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Holly Trolley Rides
The New York Museum of Transportation will host a meeting with Santa and Mrs. Claus and some train rides on select days in December.
Guests will also be able to check out the holiday decorations around the museum, enjoy refreshments, and check out the new model train.
These will be held on Saturday, December 7, Sunday, December 8, and Sunday, December 15. The museum closes for the season on December 16. It will re-open next May.
Roc Lights at Victor Hills
This year will be your last chance to catch the Roc Lights at Victor Hills!
This is the last time that the five-week-long Christmas light display will be set up at the Victory Hills Golf Club. You will be able to drive your car through a mile-and-a-half-long pathway of dazzling Christmas lights!

Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will be playing some Holiday-themed shows in both November and December.
RPO will be performing with Rochester City Ballet in a production of "The Nutcracker." That will be held on select dates from November 27 through December 1.
From December 20 through 22, RPO will be hosting its Gala Holiday Pops, with two shows on December 21.

Santa comes to the Paper Store
Santa Claus will be visiting The Paper Store locations throughout December — including the Pittsford store.
Children will be able to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with characters such as Bluey, Anna, and Elsa.
This will happen on Sunday, December 1 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, December 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Stokoe Farms Christmas Season

Families are invited to grab their Christmas trees from Stokoe Farms this year!
The farm is open from November 23 through December 7 — and on weekends, their animal encounters will be open. Guests will be able to meet and cuddle with animals such as kangaroos, bearded dragons, hedgehogs, and armadillos.

Pittsford's Candlelight Night
The Pittsford Chamber of Commerce has a holiday celebration planned featuring horse-drawn wagon rides, carolers, live music, lights, and a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and even the Grinch!
For the adults, there is also a pub crawl taking place throughout the night!
The event is usually held on the first Tuesday of December, but the Town of Pittsford will share the time and date soon!

Saturday, November 30
Irondequoit Tree Lighting Celebration
Irondequoit residents are invited to I-Square at Bakers Park for the 13th annual I-Square Tree Lighting.
Families will be able to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus in the Imaginarium prior to the tree-lighting ceremony. Irondequoit Scouts of America Troops 154, 220, and 336 will also be selling Christmas trees.
The celebration will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Downtown Canandaigua 'Illuminate! Light Parade'
The annual "Illuminate Canandaigua Light Parade will kick off and follow with the tree-lighting ceremony at Commons Park.
The event will be held on South Main Street, beginning at City Hall to the park. The event will go from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, December 1

Lights of Honor Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Rochester community is invited by Blue Star Mothers Rochester NY8 to the Lights of Honor Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The ceremony will have one person representing each branch of the US Military put an ornament on a holiday tree — representing each major combat area from the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror.
The keynote speaker for the ceremony is Lt. Colonel Douglass Herrmann, who served 23 years in the Army in five deployments. There will also be performances from the 198th Army Brass Band Quintet, the Pittsford Sutherland Concert Choir, and the Towpath Volunteers Fife and Drum.
The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. at the War Memorial.
Thursday, December 5
Park Avenue Holiday Open House
The Park Avenue Merchants Association is hosting a holiday open house.
Some highlights in this open house include the tree and menorah lighting, a meet and greet with Santa, and horse-drawn wagon rides.
The open house kicks off at 5 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.
Greece Tree Lighting & Family Christmas Party
The Greece Community Center is ringing in the holidays with a tree lighting and Christmas party.
The event will start with some Christmas carols before the official tree lighting, which is at the pavilion next to the center.
The family Christmas party will take place right after the lighting, which will feature live performances, food, and a visit from Santa.
The event will be from 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday, December 6

Genesee Brewery's Keg Tree Lighting
The Genesee Brewery will light its iconic Keg Tree to ring in the holiday season this December.
The tree lighting party will take place at the Genesee Brew House and will include live music and entertainment, food, and photo opportunities.
The party will be lit throughout the holiday season, but the party will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Penfield Tree Lighting Ceremony
A tree lighting ceremony will be held at the Penfield Community Center — featuring a newly planted tree in front of the building.
Along with the tree lighting, attendees will be provided hot chocolate and can take part in activities, such as ornament-making and meeting Santa.
The festivities begin at 6 p.m. and the tree lighting will begin 15 minutes afterward.
Chili Community Tree Lighting
The Town of Chili is inviting the community for its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony!
The lighting will take place at the Chili Community Center. Families are invited to stick around after the tree lighting for caroling, horse-drawn wagon rides, food, and more!
The festivities start at 6 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 7

Canandaigua Brewery Keg Lighting & Tuba Christmas
Local breweries in Canandaigua are taking part in keg tree lightings at each of their locations.
While this is happening, a musical celebration will be held at the Commons Park performed by tuba, euphonium, sousaphone, and baritone players.
These two events will happen throughout the day on South Main Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Liberty Pole Lighting & Family Parade
The City of Rochester will kick off the holiday season with the Lighting of the Liberty Pole and Family Parade.
The festivities begin as Santa Claus lights the Liberty Pole — set to live music from the Prime Time Brass. After that, there will be the family parade from the Liberty Pole to Roc Holiday Village.
The lighting starts at 5 p.m. The parade starts at 5:15 p.m. until 5:40 p.m.
Holiday Lights and Magic
The Town of Henrietta's Holiday Lights and Magic will take place across multiple locations this season!
The event will take place at the Henrietta Public Library, Henrietta Recreation Center, and the Henrietta Senior Center. Activities include storytime at the library, a tree-lighting ceremony, vendors at the rec center, and visits with Santa
The events will go from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 14
Bristol Mountain's Breakfast with Santa

Bristol Mountain Ski Resort will be hosting two options for Breakfast with Santa!
The two seatings will be at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Families will be able to enjoy breakfast, listen to music, and have the opportunity to meet Santa.

Penfield Holiday Blast
The Penfield Community Center will be hosting the annual Holiday Blast!
Guests attending the event will be able to enjoy cookie decorating, arts and crafts, and more. Santa will also be at the event and there will be music.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
An Afternoon with Santa
Santa Claus's next stop will be in Webster at the Recreation Center!
Families will be able to bring their letters to Santa and drop them into his mailbox. a letter will be available for pickup on December 20. Plus, live music, cookies, and story time!
The event will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
'Elf' in Concert
The movie "Elf" will be accompanied by a live orchestra for the first time at Kodak Hall!
The event, organized by the Eastman School of Music, will feature a live symphony orchestra playing the score alongside the movie.
The performance will be from 2 to 4 p.m. More information can be found here.
Sodus Christmas Parade & Winter Festival
The Town of Sodus will be holding its Christmas Parade — and is inviting the community to register!
The line-up for parade entries can be found at Sodus High School at 4 p.m. You can submit the registration to [email protected].
There will also be a home decorating competition, with the deadline to register being December 6, 2024. Winners will be announced during the event.
The parade will begin at 5 p.m.
December 22
Reindeer Run
The Reindeer Run 5K and Kids 1/2 Mile returns this holiday season!
Both runs will be held at the Blue Cross Arena. The 5K kicks off at 8:30 a.m. while the kids 1/2 mile kicks off at 9:20 a.m.
