FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A backyard fire in southwest Fresno left multiple blocks without power Wednesday night.
Fire crews say they arrived at the home on Byrd Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Fresno around 9:15 p.m.
Once on scene, crews say they found a fire burning in the backyard that had spread to sheds and vegetation on the property. No residents were home during the time of the fire.
Although crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby residences, at least four blocks along MLK Boulevard between Jensen Avenue and Cesar Chavez Boulevard were without power.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
