Nominations sought for Woman of Achievement
Nov 21, 2024
WEST WINDSOR — The Mercer County Commission on the Status of Women opened nominations for its 2025 Woman of Achievement and Young Woman of Achievement awards, County Executive Dan Benson announced.
The awards recognize women who volunteer in Mercer County. The Woman of Achievement Award goes to women who volunteer their time in the county, while the Young Woman of Achievement Award recognizes a high school senior for volunteer work.
“Volunteer work is integral to so many organizations throughout Mercer,” said County Executive Dan Benson. “So many in our community share their time, talents, and passions to make life better for others and these awards are an opportunity to highlight their leadership and their contributions.”
Nominations close at noon on December 2, 2024. Nominees for Woman of Achievement can be submitted at www.mercercounty.org/woaform. Young Woman of Achievement nominations go to www.mercercounty.org/ywoaform.
Winners will receive recognition at a reception on March 26, 2025, at Mercer Oaks Clubhouse in West Windsor.
“So many schools, agencies, and other organizations depend on their volunteers,” said Taraun Tice McKnight, Deputy County Administrator and Director of the Department of Human Services. “We’re proud to continue shining a light on Mercer County women who are making a difference here every day.”
The Commission, established in 1976 under the Mercer County Department of Human Services, works to develop programs and policies for women in the county. Members connect with community groups focused on improving women’s status in Mercer County.
