HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Holyoke Police are investigating a shooting incident near Pine and Hampden Streets Tuesday afternoon that left one person injured. Holyoke police arrest two in heroin, fentanyl distribution investigation According to police, officers were called to the area at approximately 1:50 p.m. after a ShotSpotter activation alerted authorities to gunfire. Investigators determined that two vehicles were possibly involved in an exchange of gunfire. Initially, no victims were reported, but police later identified one individual who is being treated at Baystate Medical Center and is expected to be okay. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm near where the shooting took place. The Holyoke Police Department noted that they received no 911 calls about the incident, with ShotSpotter serving as the only notification. Holyoke Police are asking for help from the community as they continue their investigation.
