(KRON) -- A man was arrested after he pretended to be a realtor and stole jewelry and cash from two open houses in the North Bay this fall, the Marin County Sheriff's Office said. The suspect has a history of committing similar crimes in other California cities, per the sheriff's office.
The first theft happened in October in the Sleepy Hollow area of Marin County. The suspect used an alias, claimed to be working with another realtor, and said he was interested in the home, per MCSO.
He took a self-guided tour and stole $15,000 worth of jewelry, the sheriff's office said.

The suspect was identified as Joshua Lamont, 50, of San Diego. He was determined to be staying at a hotel in Walnut Creek and was arrested on Wednesday.
In his hotel room, deputies found evidence from the Kent Woodlands burglary and receipts from various Bay Area pawn shops. Detectives are still working to locate the stolen items.
Lamont had outstanding warrants for similar crimes in San Diego and Santa Barbara. He is being held in jail on a $400,000 bail.
