TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Topeka Police Department (TPD) is investigating a car-and-pedestrian incident that led to one fatality. Just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, Topeka Police responded to a reported injury crash involving a car and pedestrian near the 1900 block of Southeast Adams Street. Topeka leaders appoint new police chief According to a news release, a male was transported to a local hospital, and was later pronounced dead. All individuals involved have been accounted for. Officers are currently investigating the incident. Drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time; Topeka Police told 27 News the road is expected to open up in a few hours.
