After securing its first trophy in club history with a 2-1 win over Charleston Battery in the USL Championship Eastern Conference Final, Rhode Island FC will conclude a historic inaugural season with a trip out west to Weidner Field to take on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the USL Championship Final on Saturday, Nov. 23. The Ocean State club is the first expansion side in eight years to advance all the way to the final in its first season, and the first club in league history to do so out of the Eastern Conference. Only one other first-year expansion club has ever won the USL Championship Final, and RIFC would be the first to do so in a decade should it win in Colorado Springs. The nationally televised final match is set to kick off at 12 p.m. ET on CBS
