TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Taunton police said one person has been transported by Medflight to a hospital after an accident on Court Street Wednesday night. At approximately 5:45, police responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. At the scene, Taunton police saw a man who endured serious injuries after being struck by a car, and was transported by Medflight to a local hospital. Police say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating. The individual has not yet been identified, but police described him as a white male between the ages of 60 and 70 who may be a member of the homeless population. ABC 6 News crews on scene saw police cruisers blocking off the street, as well as the car being towed. The Taunton Police Division is investigating the incident.
