WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — AAA Northeast hosted its annual Community Traffic Safety Awards in Warwick Wednesday to honor those in law enforcement and traffic safety who work to keep the community safe. Jillian Young with AAA Northeast emphasized how these events highlight the work of those who normally go unrecognized. "For a lot of these officers, it can often feel like thankless work," Young said. "At these ceremonies, we get to hear positive words about the young men and women who do this work day in and day out." Each year, AAA also recognizes journalists who help spread the important message of traffic safety. 12 News Anchor and Reporter Kayla Fish was named the 2024 Traffic Safety Journalist Hero of the Year during Wednesday's ceremony. 12 News anchor and reporter Kayla Fish receives the Traffic Safety Journalist Hero of the Year award Close Thanks for signing up!
