GRADY COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — The Grady County Sheriff's Office released video of the moment a group of masked thieves invaded an marijuana grow. The security video shows seven people making their way into a marijuana grow house just Southwest of Ninnekah earlier this month. Mark Woodward with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics said robberies just like this one happen more often then you think. LOCAL NEWS: Over 10,000 plants seized at Muskogee marijuana grow "You have a lot of different types of robberies and again, some of it's disgruntled workers, it could be a rivalry rival grow down the road, it could be a rival international criminal organization," said Woodward. The 24-hour grow had at least 20-25 employee's working. Despite some of the thieves having guns, no one was hurt. Many of the workers were Chinese nationals. "Most of the time, witnesses are not being left and these workers are being replaced and nobody's missing because they're undocumented workers from China," said Woodward. Moments later, the video shows the thieves leaving with bags of stolen weed. Woodward said drug agents are trying to crack down on pot from Oklahoma making it to the black market by shutting down over 7,000 grows in the last three years for criminal activity. "That's why we've got rules in place about cameras, you've got to have certain height of fence, you've got to have monitored security," said Woodward. Though the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics is not investigating this crime, Woodward said similar grows have been targeted. "It was not accidental, it was not random. It was totally tied to the people who know how that operation at that farm is working, so as far as Ninnekah is concerned, I have no clue," said Woodward. The Grady County Sheriff's Office is still investigating this case. They know seven people robbed the grow and some of them have already been arrested.
