3rd reported sexual assault this month by NOLA parks
Nov 20, 2024
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — According to the New Orleans Police Department, a little after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, someone was raped and nearly kidnapped at the corner of Piety and Chartres streets, which is right by Crescent Park.
The case is the third investigation of a sexual assault that has happened by parks in the city this month. It's also the latest case to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
St. Rose murder remains unsolved 11 years later
On Nov. 10 and 11, the NOPD began investigating sexual assault cases on back to back days. Both cases happened along Wisner Boulevard by City Park. Police released a security camera image of a car that they say was used in the first attack. They say the second attack, the very next day, was carried out by a different man who was driving a white truck.
Police have not released as much information about the most recent attack by Crescent Park in the Bywater, but police did say the victim was raped and nearly kidnapped.
Also, there is a city crime camera located at that corner, so perhaps the NOPD has some footage that shows what happened during the attack Sunday night.

Police say that even though all three attacks happened near parks in the city, they do not believe they're connected. Also, all three cases remain unsolved, so police are looking for three attackers.
