BismarckMandan winter snowstorm dies down, locals react
Nov 20, 2024
BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — It still remains hazardous outside, especially for anyone traveling.
Although the snow has mainly stopped around the capital city, winds remain very gusty.
"It is hard," said local Allayna Jensen. "North Dakotans have to be very tough. These are hard conditions to be outside in. And I know many people that work outside. Their jobs take them outside. It's just tough on the body."
The Bismarck-Mandan area, the KX Storm Team says, has already gotten more than an inch and a half of snow. However, meteorologists say wind speeds and the snow will die down by late Wednesday night. But more snow is in store soon.
Weather Closings and Cancellations
"I know we'll have snow," said Jensen. "It's very rare we don't. But I'm sure [this winter] will be chilly and cold just as every other winter is. We definitely have to be tough here."
And even though the full brunt of winter is upon us, locals are already prepared.
They've already gotten their vehicles the necessary maintenance to get them through these tough conditions.
Snow blowers are out, and people are shoveling.
"We just take it day by day," said Jensen. "Try to help out our neighbors; they try to help us out. I have wonderful neighbors, too. We all help each other out."
