BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Housing Authority unveiled the installation of two state-of-the-art backup generators for the Cypress Pinchback senior living community during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
The installation of these two state-of-the-art backup generators, which are funded by Partners Southeast, is part of Entergy's 'Power Through' program, which focuses on offering an affordable solution to backup power and helping community resilience in Louisiana, according to a news release.
"Our goal is to always provide our customers with exceptional service, and the incorporation of Entergy's Power Through program at Cypress Pinchback helps us do just that, not only for residents at the facility, but also for the broader community in East Baton Rouge Parish," said Seth Schilling, Entergy Louisiana region customer service manager.

The natural gas generators will offer backup power to Cypress Pinchback if the facility were to experience a power outage, according to a news release. The generators will also send power to Entergy's electric system during times of peak demand and to serve the community's power needs.
"Thanks to this new power solution, seniors can rest assured that their health and safety needs -- such as keeping medications cool and maintaining essential power -- will be supported, even in adverse weather," said a news release.
