BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) --A Bakersfield man was found guilty of assaulting a security guard with a deadly weapon and attempting criminal threats at the Town and Country shopping center in August.
According to the Kern County District Attorney's Office, Rodney Rusco, was asked by a security guard to leave the premises of the Town and Country shopping center after drinking from a wine bottle and loitering outside of businesses on Aug. 10.
Rusco then responded with profanity and refused to leave, according to the DA's office.
Officials say Rusco was a transient in the area.

Rusco told the security guard "one stab and you're done," while showing him the handle of a kitchen knife inside his pocket.
Ultimately Rusco set down his items and ran toward the security guard with the wine bottle in his hand.
The security guard raised his hand to block the attack after Rusco swung the bottle toward his head, according to the DA's office.
The bottle did not strike the guard but Rusco's wrist hit the guard's forearm.
The Bakersfield Police Department responded to the scene and took Rusco into custody, according to officials. Rusco was still in possession of the knife and bottle.
Rusco is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 7 and can face up to 10 years in prison.
