Man steals car at gunpoint in Syracuse, leads officers on car chase, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. — A man stole a car at gunpoint Tuesday and led officers on a car chase through Syracuse streets, police said.Around 8:48 p.m., Antoni Martinez, 19, and another person approached a man on Whitwell Drive and displayed a handgun, Kieran Coffey, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Police Department. They told the man, who was inside his vehicle, to get out or they would shoot him he said.
