ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Months after a woman was hit and killed on an Albuquerque street, the victim's family is still looking for justice. The Albuquerque Police Department is also renewing its call for help, trying to track down whoever was behind the wheel.
The body of 35-year-old Jeneva Salazar was found near Harper Drive and San Mateo Boulevard on Sunday, June 16. According to a witness, Salazar was hit by a dark, two-door vehicle with a front license plate that fled the scene.
Police have not yet identified the driver. Cynthia Madrid, Salazar's mother, is hoping she may finally get answers. "Just come forward. Please, just come forward," said Madrid. "She was an amazing person. She was funny. She was smart."

Madrid remembers her daughter as someone who was always looking out for others and who loved tattoos and music. "It's just been really hard. Hard to get through," said Madrid.
The Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of $2,500 for any tips that can help solve the case. "We know somebody knows something, and we just want them to come forward. You don't have to say who you are. You can do it anonymously," said Madrid.
Madrid says she has a message for those responsible for her daughter's death: "I need to see you, and I need to forgive you. If it was an accident, whatever the circumstances are," said Madrid.
