WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The suspect in the disappearance of Charlotte Lester was in court Wednesday, with a judge ruling for him to be held without bail. 64-year-old Mark Perkins was charged with first-degree murder in the case of Lester, whose remains were found prior to his arrest. Lester, an East Greenwich native, was last seen in the area of Arnold’s Neck Drive and Staples Avenue in Warwick on the evening of May 16, 2022. Perkins’s Warwick home was searched after her disappearance, and he was charged with felony assault after getting into an argument with radio host John DePetro outside the house. DePetro was outside the home because Lester was known to frequent it. The next time Perkins appears in court will depend on the findings of a grand jury. Categories: News, Rhode Island, Warwick
