INDIANAPOLIS -- A 35-year-old man was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Tennessee in relation to a fatal shooting on the southwest side of Indianapolis in June 2023. According to officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Seth Smith-Robinson was taken into custody on Tuesday for his reported involvement in the shooting death of 36-year-old Erica Pedroza. Booking photo of Seth Smith-Robinson provided by Nashville Police Department. IMPD officers were called to a home in the 8600 block of Orchard Grove Lane on July 22, 2023 on a report of a shooting. When they arrived at the home, they found a woman, later identified as Pedroza, who was shot. Pedroza was later pronounced dead by first responders. Indianapolis police investigates shooting leaving woman dead in home on city’s southwest side After an investigation by IMPD homicide detectives, they identified the alleged suspect as Smith-Robinson. On Nov. 13, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office filed murder charges against Smith-Robinson and a warrant was issued for his arrest. U.S. Marshals located and arrested Smith-Robinson in Tennessee on Tuesday. IMPD said that he will be extradited back to Marion County on a murder charge.
