Winter weather impacting roads in eastern KELOLAND

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A winter storm is forecast to move across South Dakota.

Sioux Falls will likely stay under 1″, but the wind will reduce visibilities in the middle of the snow bands. A post on X from the Minnehaha County Sheriff says drivers should take extra caution this morning on the roads.
As of 7:45 a.m. most roads are scattered ice and slippery in East River, according to SD 511. Stay up to date with KELOLAND News for all weather and storm updates.
A post from the South Dakota Highway Department says weather in the northeast part of the state is not ideal.
"Visibility is greatly reduced in spots west of Summit due to the blowing snow. Roads are icy and snow covered. All pictures are on US 12 west of Summit," the post said.
