More than 150 invited guests gathered on Brickell Avenue last week to salute 52 leaders who were featured in the 2024 Book of Lead­ers, which compiles a full year of the Achiever profiles that are the hallmark of Miami Today. It is the 28th annual edition of the book. Business, civic, nonprofit and education leaders as well as of­ficials of local, federal and inter­national governments attended. Many of those present were recognized as Achievers in past years and some will appear in future editions of the book. They gathered in the 24th floor offices of Northern Trust Bank at 600 Brickell Ave. to congratu­late this year’s honorees, whose portraits were being sequentially displayed overhead. More than 2,100 leaders have been recognized as achievers by Miami Today since 1983. Alexander Adams, Northern Trust Bank president; Miami Today Vice President Carmen Betancourt-Lewis and Publisher Michael Lewis. Honorees Natalia Crujeiras, CEO and executive director of HistoryMiami Museum, and Casey Steadman, director of The Wolfsonian-FIU.                 In a brief program, Miami Today’s guests were greeted by Alexander Adams, president of Northern Trust for the South Florida Region. The organizations have over the years collaborated in community endeavors, including the creation of the Brickell Avenue Literary Society and development of the Prologue Society. Miami Today Publisher Michael Lewis and Vice President Carmen Betancourt-Lewis noted to the celebrating group that the news or­ganization carefully curates those chosen as achievers for their impact on and service to the community. Canada’s Consul General Sylvia Cesaratto together with Maria Suhr of the Office of Foreign Missions of the U.S. Department of State. Lourdes de la Mata Little, president and CEO, Junior Achievement of Greater Miami; Roberto Muñoz, The Global Financial Group; honoree Symeria Hudson, president and CEO of United Way Miami. Ron Shuffield, CEO, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services-EWM Realty; Brittnie Bassant, president and CEO, Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce; Robert Wolfarth, chairman, Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust.
