NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office is praising a young girl for testifying against the man who raped her.
Orleans District Attorney Jason Williams spoke with reporters on Tuesday afternoon and announced that Kevin Gamez-maro-diaga was found guilty of first-degree rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile under the age of 13.

"The evidence presented in court revealed a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior. This young victim courageously testified that he assaulted her on multiple occasions," said Williams.
The rapes happened between June and December of 2022. It took the jury 90 minutes to reach a verdict, and Gamez-maro-diaga will be sentenced to mandatory life in prison in January.
