Despite some early morning rain, we enjoyed a beautiful Tuesday across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio! Temperatures climbed into the 60s and we saw a lot of sunshine to end the day. We hope you enjoyed it because it may be awhile until the weather is this nice again... We enjoyed a nice sunset Tuesday! Look for skies to become partly cloudy early Wednesday morning as some areas of fog develop. This is as a result of winds being light overnight. Keep this in mind as you're heading out the door to work or school before daybreak. Temperatures will be as low as the lower 40s. We're in the 40s with increasing clouds and areas of fog early Wednesday. Buckle up for a big change that begins on Wednesday! A powerful cold front will arrive around midday Wednesday, bringing rain showers, ending our fog concerns, and bringing gusty winds. We could see gusts as high as 35 mph, making your lunchtime plans rather unpleasant. We'll only see temperatures climb as high as the mid-40s before temperatures slowly fall the rest of the day behind the cold front and some clouds linger on. By the evening, we should be dry, but noticeably chillier and windy. Rain moves in around midday Wednesday.Temperatures fall and winds increase behind this round of rain. We then track our first snow chances of the season! Before dawn Thursday, we could see a few snow showers, as temperatures dip all the way down into the lower 30s. Then we'll track periods of rain and snow as a low pressure system dives southward into our region. We could see all rain, a mixture, or all snow at times throughout the day and it will be windy; we could see occasional gusts up to 40 mph. Our high temperatures will only reach the mid-30s, but with wind gusts this strong, feels-like temperatures or wind chill values will be as low as the lower 20s. Brr! You'll want to bundle up or stay inside all day long, as it will really feel like winter outside. Clouds increase again late Wednesday evening.Snow showers arrive overnight, with temperatures dropping into the 30s.Periods of snow, mixing with rain at times, are expected Thursday.Highs only reach the mid-30s.It will feel as cold as the 20s! Brr! As far as snow accumulation is concerned, very little accumulation is anticipated on roadways and sidewalks, as they will still be too warm and actual air temperatures will be above freezing. However, it is possible some spots see upwards of an inch to two inches of snow add up in grassy and elevated surfaces. Still make sure you're taking it easy as you head out for any plans on Thursday. The better chance for higher amounts lies in our southwestern areas. Our first snow of the season arrives on Thursday with grassy accumulations possible. By Thursday night, we'll be left with just a slight rain/snow shower chance and then we'll track lingering scattered lake effect rain showers on Friday. This is due to high temperatures rebounding back up into the 40s. We're much calmer by the weekend, with plenty of clouds in store and highs in the 40s both days. Enjoy it before we track more precipitation chances next week, especially in the Monday night into Tuesday window. Stay tuned!
