VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man was arrested Monday after being seen throwing various objects onto an active Visalia freeway, the California Highway Patrol announced.
CHP says on Nov. 13 they received a call regarding a man running in the traffic lanes of Highway 99 near Prosperity Avenue.
Officers say witnesses reported the man was seen causing several near-miss crashes as he was throwing multiple objects, including a chair, onto the freeway.
Investigators say they eventually identified the man as Manuel Zepeda. Zepeda is described as a repeat offender for similar crimes and a parolee recently released from prison.
On Nov. 18, CHP says Zepeda was found and arrested on suspicion of throwing objects at a vehicle with malicious and willful intent, violation of parole, and resisting arrest.
