Man found guilty of murdering exgirlfriend, her 14yearold son

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Jose Murillo-Salgado was convicted in the brutal 2022 murders of his ex-girlfriend, Claudia Nunez, and her 14-year-old son, Kevin Nunez.
A jury convicted Murillo-Salgado, 44, on multiple charges including two counts of First-Degree Murder by Premeditation, two counts of First-Degree Murder in the Perpetration of a Felony, and Especially Aggravated Burglary.

On July 22, 2022, around 3:30 a.m., Murillo-Salgado broke into Claudia Nunez's home, where she was with her three children, ages 16, 14, and 12. Police say he fatally stabbed Claudia and 14-year-old Kevin.
The D.A.’s office previously stated that Murillo-Salgado was arguing with Claudia, who wanted to end their relationship of several months, before he went into the kitchen, grabbed a butcher knife, and stabbed her son Kevin, who tried to intervene during the argument. He then stabbed Claudia multiple times.

The other two children witnessed the attack but were able to get away.
He was sentenced to life in prison on the murder charges.
He will be sentenced on the additional charge of Especially Aggravated Burglary on December 17. The D.A.'s office says that on that date, the court will determine whether his life sentences will run concurrently or consecutively.
