GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Community members gathered at the Western Racquet and Fitness Club to help design ornaments while sharing their experiences with movement struggles. Held by the group Empowerment Dance, the ornaments will go towards their design of a 'Rhythm of Joy' tree which will bring awareness to those who live with movement struggles such as Parkinson's Disease. Oneida Nation Museum officially breaks ground for brand new location Empowered by Movement is one of the group's classes, and it was one of the second-place winners in the Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport Tree Decorating Contest. The airport will be debuting three artificial evergreens in its grand lobby and terminals, leading Empowerment Dance to seek the community's aid in designing its tree. Empowerment Dance's owner Lisa Pritzl said they decided to design ornaments this way to bring awareness to their class, which is aimed towards seniors, especially those with Parkinson's Disease. Salvation Army truck in Oshkosh starts filling up with donations, bringing holiday joy to local kids "Part of their job today was to decorate a mirrored ornament and write a statement on it about why movement empowers them," Pritzl said.
