NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol, effective immediately, is restricting oversize loads in the northwest corner of the state until further notice due to winter weather conditions, road conditions and high winds. The notice is for all permitted, over-dimensional vehicles in NW North Dakota. The highway patrol warns for all other high-profile and long-load type vehicles, weather may affect travel and drivers should take notice of changing conditions. According to a post on the highway patrol Facebook page, North Dakota law restricts travel for these vehicle types when inclement weather causes the vehicle or attachment to swerve, whip, sway, or fail to follow the path of towing vehicle. You can check the North Dakota Department of Transportation map for load restriction updates before you travel: https://travel.dot.nd.gov/ Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
