UPDATE: Plainville woman charged with arson in apartment complex fire

PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — A Plainville woman has been charge with arson in a fire set in her Messenger Street apartment complex Monday morning, according to multiple officials.
Heather MacKinnon, 61, a resident of the complex, is charged with arson of a dwelling, malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct, according to Plainville Fire Chief Robert E. Skinner, Plainville Police Chief James Floyd and State Fire Marshal Jon M. Davine.
The Plainville Fire Department responded to Village Green Apartments at 5:15 a.m. Monday for a report of fire with residents possibly trapped in the building.
One person was rescued from the building and more than 20 occupants were displaced.
Mutual aid was called in from North Attleborough, Foxboro, Wrentham, Norfolk, Franklin and Bellingham.
After investigating the scene, witness interviews and examination of evidence, investigators determined the blaze to be arson and identified MacKinnon as the suspect.
MacKinnon was located in North Attleborough and will be arraigned in Wrentham District Court.
